I am a freelance writer, researcher, editor, and communication and performance teacher.
In 2016 I was awarded a QANZAC 100 Fellowship by the State Library of Queensland to research Annie and Portia Wheeler and their extraordinary work during the first world war. This research is the basis for a television series focusing on Portia, Annie and other women who shared a boarding house in Westminster, London, the heart of wartime military operations. I have written the pilot episode and am in the process of finding a producer. I tell a little of their story in this blog and two SLQ Vimeo videos – Discovering Annie Wheeler, and my 2016 Fellowship video. If you think you are the right producer or know someone who would be perfect and would like to read the draft please contact me.
My screenwriting credits include the feature film “Don’t Tell” which was released in 2017 and has been nominated for a 2017 AACTA Award for Best Adapted Screenplay and several episodes of series one and two of the ABC drama “The Time of Our Lives”. I was script editor of the telemovie “Beaconsfield” which screened on the Nine Network and researcher on the ABC mini-series “Paper Giants – The Magazine Wars”.
In 2015 I completed a Graduate Diploma of Journalism at QUT with a GPA of 7 and was awarded a place on the Dean’s List for Academic Excellence. I run a private drama and communication studio for children, young adults and adults.
